The story’s plot intrigued me the moment I read it. It seems really interesting and a bit different from other mystery stories I’ve read before and so I signed up on the blog tour hosted by Pinoy Book Tours a few weeks ago.

Ask Aria Morse anything, and she must answer with the truth. Yet she rarely understands the cryptic words she‘s compelled to utter. Blessed—or cursed—with the power of an Oracle who cannot decipher her own predictions, she does her best to avoid anyone and everyone.
But Aria can no longer hide when Jade, one of the few girls at school who ever showed her any kindness, disappears. Any time Aria overhears a question about Jade, she inadvertently reveals something new, a clue or hint as to why Jade vanished. But like stray pieces from different puzzles, her words never present a clear picture.
Then there’s Alex, damaged and dangerous, but the first person other than Jade to stand up for her. And Will, who offers a bond that seems impossible for a girl who’s always been alone. Both were involved with Jade. Aria may be the only one who can find out what happened, but the closer she gets to solving the crime, the more she becomes a target. Not everyone wants the truth to come out.
I quickly picked up the book and began reading it almost non-stop even though I just got off from a 12 hours shift. I was immediately hooked by the story because not only the main character was pretty interesting and rather decent, I enjoyed the writing just as much.
The mythological element was also one of the things I really liked about the story. Aria’s powers really fascinated and terrified me at the same time. Personally, I don’t think I can live normally if I have a certain power like that. I also think Aria as a good and unique main character. I like the way she perceives things and I also love her relationship with her grandparents which are like the coolest characters on the book!
While I enjoyed reading the book, I thought there were certain letdowns in the story. I don’t know about the others who had read this story, but I pretty much guessed early on who the suspect is. And I have to admit that I got a little annoyed with Aria when it took her a bit too long to figure it out give her powers and, for me, I thought she was a smart girl so I don’t understand that part. I got a little disappointed with that to be honest.
Overall, Ask Me did satisfy my craving for suspense and mystery. I also liked the bit of romance here and there in the book. I’m giving this a 3.5 out of 5 stars. Thanks to Pinoy Book Tours for letting me participate on the blog tour!
