Remembrance by Michelle Madow

The first thing that I noticed on Remembrance was the stunning and gorgeous cover. And then I found out that the story was inspired by Taylor Swift hit song “Love Story” (which I really love) that made my interest leveled up! I was also intrigued by the plot because I personally love stories with ‘reincarnation’ themes. So I asked for a review copy from the author, Michelle Madow, and she happily provided one for me. Thanks, Michelle!

New Hampshire high school junior Lizzie Davenport has been reincarnated from Regency Era, England … but she doesn’t know it yet.

Then Drew Carmichael transfers into Lizzie’s school at the beginning of the year, and she feels a connection to him, almost like she knows him. She can’t stop thinking about him, but whenever she tries talking with him about the mysteries behind her feelings, he makes it clear that he wants nothing to do with her. Reaching him is even more difficult because she has a boyfriend, Jeremy, who has started to become full of himself after being elected co-captain of the varsity soccer team, and her flirtatious best friend Chelsea starts dating Drew soon after his arrival. So why can’t she seem to get him out of her mind?

Even though Lizzie knows she should let go of her fascination with Drew, the pair of them soon find that fighting fate isn’t going to be easy.

Remembrance is an astonishing and unique love story. I enjoyed the story so much! I liked how well-balanced the story was. It wasn’t over the top, all of the elements are in proportion which made the story very entertaining as a whole. Madow’s writing style was very impressive especially for a debut author like her. It was simple yet really gripping. The story was simply captivating and the plot was original. I was also pleasantly surprised that Madow threw some Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice in the story which really blended well with the book’s plot.

Just like the plot, the characters are all very well-developed especially the protagonist, Lizzie and the charming Drew. The supporting characters are also wonderful, they definitely added some kick in the story.

Remembrance is a wonderful start in a series. It’s a brilliant mix of romance, fantasy and reality. I seriously couldn’t wait for the next book, Vengeance! I definitely recommend this to all YA Romance readers!

This sounds AMAZING. I've seen this one around a few times, but it's the first time I've read the blurb. I love historical/regency era romance, and paranormal, and I can't think of a better combination.

    Lovely review! Thank you!

Remembrance is a story of love that transcends time. It is a story of a couple who belong together, no matter where or when their paths cross. A story that is presented in such a way, that I became entranced with the idea of reincarnated love.
